All Classes are limited to 5 students only. Don't be disappointed! Your spot is reserved for you when you call or come in and pay for the class. All supplies needed for class are 10% off for all registered students. Most classes require a purchased pattern. Please ask what supplies are needed when registering for the class. If you must miss a session, you can arrange to come in for a make-up session anytime mutually convenient. If you have registered for a class at Mew Mew's and haven't finished your class project, you are welcome to come in to the shop anytime for free support and help! Please turn off cellphones in class.

Beginning/Continuing Knitting

Thursdays (6 - 8 pm) - June 24, July 1, 8
or Thursdays (6 - 8 pm) - August 5, 12, 19

Learn the basics! Knit, Purl, Garter stitch, Stockinette Stitch, Increases and Decreases, basic pattern reading, binding off, picking up a dropped stitch, etc. Make a scarf, hat, or washcloth. This class can also be a refresher, or for the student who wishes to continue knitting a beginner project.

Beginning/Continuing Crochet

Thursdays (6 - 8 pm) - July 15, 22, 29
Learn the basics or start from what you know and go from there. Crochet goes faster than knitting. Make a scarf, hat or washcloth or work on swatches. Or, as a continuing crocheter get help with any project you'd like.
Once you have the basics down, you're welcome to attend our weekly guild meeting (Crochet Guild of Lafayette). Free. Meets every Wednesday morning at Mew Mew's 10 - 12 a.m.

A La Carte

Tuesdays (6 - 8 pm) - June 1, 8, 15

This class is run like a one-room school house. You choose your own project and proceed at your own pace. Get help finishing up projects, begin a sock, sweater,felted clogs, or anything else. Or,learn a new technique: intarsia, stranding, lace, cables, reading patterns. Anything goes!

Cost:$48 (August Tuesday class is $64)

Toe Up Socks

Fridays (6 - 8 pm) - Sept. 3, 10, 17
Learn several different treatments for toes and heels on toe-up socks. We'll discuss pros and cons while practicing on a toddler sized sock. Class will also discuss how to convert a top down sock pattern into a toe-up sock pattern. You can learn using any technique you are already familiar with, magic loop, d.p.needles, or 2 circs. You should have already knit a top down sock(s) before starting this class.

Summer Breeze Hat

Tuesdays (10 am - 12 pm) - July 20, 27, August 3

Join local Wooly Bear designer herself, Cheryl Andrews as she teaches her "Summer Breeze" hat. This is the popular yellow hat displayed on the counter. Make this cool and comfortable brimmed mesh cap!
Skills needed:
Students should be comfortable knitting on a circular needle, and on double points, and knitting with 2 strands of yarn held together. We will be using YOs, K2tog and SSK decreases, and wrap-and-turn short rows, which I can teach at the class if you're not familiar with them.
Materials: 2 size 6 circular needles; one 16", one any length. Set of 5 size 6 double point needles 2 skeins of Elsebeth Lavold's Hempathy
