All Classes are limited to 5 students only. Don't be disappointed! Your spot is reserved for you when you call or come in and pay for the class. All supplies needed for class are 10% off for all registered students. Most classes require a purchased pattern. Please ask what supplies are needed when registering for the class. If you must miss a session, you can arrange to come in for a make-up session anytime mutually convenient. If you have registered for a class at Mew Mew's and haven't finished your class project, you are welcome to come in to the shop anytime for free support and help! Please turn off cellphones in class. If you must answer a phone call, please take your conversation away from the table.

Beginning/Continuing Knitting

Learn the basics! Knit, Purl, Garter stitch, Stockinette Stitch, Increases and Decreases, basic pattern reading, binding off, picking up a dropped stitch, etc. Make a scarf, hat, or washcloth. This class can also be a refresher, or for the student who wishes to continue knitting a beginner project.

Beginning Crochet
Fridays (10 am - 12 noon) - Jan 27, Feb 3, 10
Learn basic crochet techniques. Practice stitches, or start a scarf, washcloth, or basic granny square.

This class is run like a one-room school house. You choose your own project and proceed at your own pace. Get help finishing up projects, begin a sock, sweater,felted clogs, or anything else. Or,learn a new technique: intarsia, stranding, lace, cables, reading patterns. Anything goes!

Kids' Knitting classes with Cassidy

Is there a child in your life who would like to learn to knit? Cassidy is a very talented designer, knitter and teacher. Her Saturday morning kids knitting classes have become very popular here at Mew Mew's. Kids ages 8 and up might knit a penguin, jellyfish, elephant or ??? She's open to suggestions!

Tunisian Crochet
Saturdays (10:30 am - 12:30 pm) - Feb 18, 25Teacher: Roberta Metge
Must have some past basic crochet experience.
Come learn the history and technique of this unique type of crochet, also known as "afghan crochet". You'll see why Tunisian crochet is a hybrid between knitting and crocheting - using one long hook - as we learn some very interesting and beautiful stitch patterns! We'll also explore the use of the double-ended hook, as well as Tunisian in the round! You can complete some small projects (sturdy dishcloths, a place mat or two) or get a good start on a larger project (scarf, afghan or sampler). Your hook and yarn can be perchased at Mew Mew's at the first class session. See you there!
