Fall Newsletter
We will be skipping our usual "knit from the heart" charity knit group for the month of November. We will resume in December. Every Thursday 6-8 p.m. please join us! We will try the "5 hour baby sweater" for Clinica Campesina. I have some donated yarn available for this project. Bring your own circular size 6,7,or 8 needles.
Thanks to all that donated to the Afghans 4 Afghans drive. I mailed a box of various wool hats, socks,sweaters to the organization in time to deliver to Afghani children for winter.
Knitters Hang out meets every Wednesday 1 - 3 come meet other knitters/crocheters.

I keep putting off writing a new newsletter just waiting for the next new thing to arrive at Mew Mew's Yarn Shop. A large shipment of books is expected next week. More glitter yarn too..
I'm excited about the Dream In Color yarn that is in! I stock the classy (worsted wt) and the smoochy (sock wt.). This yarn is 100% superwash merino! So beautifully hand dyed and so soft! Superwash wool is treated so that it is machine washable and will NOT felt. I'm working up a baby's cardigan right now. I'll be selling it in kit form too. Another new yarn is a bulky wt. 100% soft wool in more subtle variegated colors. It is KAYA from Crystal Palace. Knits at 3 - 3 1/2 sts. per inch on U.S. 10.5 - 11 needle.
I've moved a few things around in the shop to make way for yet more yarn and products. I think I have every color or just about every color of Lamb's Pride Worsted Wt. OH..someone just bought all the yellow yesterday.I order any product that you need and I don't have in stock from Brown Sheep. Takes about a week at the most to arrive!

the Homeless will be Thursday, February 8. They will all be picked up on

Let's get together and knit for others in the cold months of November, December, January and February. The snow is falling and knitting projects are picking up! Would anyone like a clog class in December? Let me know and I'll schedule one. Upcoming classes are: top-down sweater, socks on d.p needles, and a series of three scarf classes: Bias, double knit, and double ruffle. You can take the class, go home and finish any of these scarves in a week.

It's always exciting when new Mango Moon arrives! This morning, 48 jewel-toned skeins of the recycled silk came through the door at Mew Mew's via a drab brown box. Each skein is beautiful and unique. Once in a while you get a deeper purple skein that stands out. I got one in the 48. A few others are darker purple than the rest, and some have a lighter heathered quality. I love this yarn --- and it is the most popular yarn Mew Mew sells. It is so fun to inspect each skein and choose the perfect family for a project. Even one skein will turn into a luscious scarf!
